Chapter 2

Disclaimer: I don’t own DBZ, and if I did, I could think of doing things with certain saiyan characters that wouldn’t be put into the words of a fanfic.

Chapter 2

It was almost six o’clock and Laina decided she would watch t.v.. She had debated on watching the anime, but in the end gave in. She settled herself on the couch and wrapped herself in a throw cover. The sound of thunder rumbled in the distance. She flipped on the t.v..

The familiar song from the show started and she soon became engrossed to the happenings on the screen. This episode was about when Vegeta and Future Trunks had emerged from the room of Time. She felt sorry for F. Trunks because Vegeta made it so hard for the guy to get close to him. Sometimes Vegeta was a bastard. Laina felt kind of a weird attraction to the anime guys however.

Goku with his childish naiveté of life, until he fought. Then he was all man. Vegeta with his fierce pride. She could relate. Then there was F. Trunks. Shy, humble and wanting to please. He was mature and innocent at the same time. He was having his own troubles with the father he never knew in his time. Her son could use a friend like that. Hell, she could use a friend like that. Actually, she could use more than that. She was pitiful. She was fantasizing about a cartoon character. She needed to get laid and soon. The rain was pounding against the windows, and she could feel herself getting drowsy. Her last thought was how she wished she had someone in her life to help her remember what it’s like to live again. She slept.

A blinding flash of light and a loud crash woke her. She jumped up from the couch, dazed. Damn, that storm is getting worse! She thought. She looked at the television and saw that the cable was out. There was nothing but snow on the screen. She shut it off and went to look out the window. The rain was coming down in sheets, causing a heavy mist to form. *That mist is kinda thick, though. Too thick,* she thought.

Another flash of lightning lit the sky and that’s when she noticed the wreckage in her yard. *Oh my God! Someone crashed.* She ran to the closet and grabbed an umbrella. She ran out to the side of her house where the wreck was. She knew that this was bound to happen sooner or later. Her house sat around the bend of a dead-end street and a lot of people tended to speed through until they realized there was nowhere to go. Usually, with a hard squeal of their tires they stopped themselves in time to turn around and leave.

There was a lot of smoke coming from the wreck and Laina was afraid it might blow up soon. She looked it over, trying to find the door. It didn’t look like any car she had seen before. She noticed a small window. She peered in and saw a rather handsome young man lying back in his seat. There was a gash above his left eyebrow and blood was running freely down the side of his face. She touched the door, feeling around for a handle. She found it and the door opened with a hiss. She reached in and touched the side of his neck, feeling for a pulse. It was slow and steady. He was just unconscious. She pulled her hand away and looked at his face. His eyes were opened and he was looking at her, curiosity in them. He had the most beautiful blue eyes she had ever seen. They were clear and hinted with intelligence.

She was mesmerized until she remembered that he was injured.
“ Are you okay?” she asked worriedly. He nodded slowly. “ How many fingers am I holding up?” she asked, holding up three fingers.
“Three.” He said in a deep voice that hinted with a bit of an accent she couldn’t place. And also a touch of amusement?
“ Can you move?” she asked.
He nodded again and made to rise. She reached in and wrapped her arm around his back, her hand on his side under his right arm, his left arm around her shoulders. She helped him pull himself from the interior. Gawd, he’s heavy, she thought. She could have sworn she heard him chuckle softly. She looked at his face, but he showed nothing. They walked like this to the house, the umbrella not much of a shield from the pouring rain. He was taller than she was, at least nearly six feet tall. His arm was draped over her shoulder in such a way as that it seemed more like a hug. Her arm had slipped down to wrap around his waist. It was obvious to her that he didn’t need much help walking to the house, but for some reason she couldn’t bring herself to let go. It had been a long time since she felt a masculine arm around her, even if it was from an injured male.

They made it inside and she put down the umbrella. They stood in the entrance for a few seconds before he said something to her.
“ You can release me now. Unless, you’d like to keep holding on?”
She felt her face heat from the blush that blossomed there. She dropped her arm from him as if he were on fire. She heard that chuckle again. She looked at him with a scowl on her face. He was laughing at her discomfort. But his face again showed nothing. Now that they were in the house she had a chance to really look at him. He was really handsome. Breathtakingly so. His hair was damp from the rain, but seemed to be a lavender color and long. How…unusual, yet strangely familiar to her. He was lean, but she could tell that he was well formed and muscular. His skin tone was lightly tanned. Hmm? Her eyes widened when she realized who stood in her house.
