Chapter 4
Title: Feather light

Notes: This Fic is one of my many strange ones...there is something missing from it...Reviews would be nice.
Quatre walked up the stairs with a basin and a towel in hand. He was supposed to give Duo a small wipe down to cleanse his body from Duo's recent sweat bath. When he arrived at Duo's room, he opened the door slowly and quietly.
The room was filled with the natural sunlight seeping through the egg-shelled curtains. The room was painted in neutral colors. It was filled with white vanilla colors and pale yellow, making Duo's skin show off a tint of bronze.
Quatre gave a small sigh; Duo was yet again lying on his stomach, breathing heavily. Quatre walked in, leaving the door open to air out the room since the windows weren't open yet.
Quatre placed the basin on the redwood table near the bed and walked over to open some windows. It was a cool spring day. The breeze was refreshing and warm. He had no idea how long he stared out of the window, but when he heard a moan he turned around quickly.
"Duo?" Quatre said softly. 'He's waking up!' Quatre thought as he rushed to call the others who were down stairs. Then he returned by Duo's side.
Duo's body started to tremble and shake. Quatre put his hands on Duo's back to soothe his sleeping friend but the trembling got worst. When Quatre's hand made contact with Duo's heated skin he knew something was wrong right away.
"Duo? Wha-" Quatre never finished. Duo's body jerked up suddenly, a silent scratchy scream escaped his lips, eyes wide in shock as something ripped through Duo's back, spattering blood throughout the once clean room before falling back on the bed, body spasming.
Quatre fell back in shock, his clothes, face and hair were matted with blood, but that was the least of his worries. When Quatre fell back, he knocked over the basin on the nightstand. He screamed and screamed for what it was worth. There was so much blood. 'Duo's blood' was Quatre's last thoughts as blackness surrounded his vision.

Trowa, Heero and Wufei were on their way up when they heard Quatre shout down the stairs that Duo was waking up. Setting down what they were doing, they started up to the room, but when they heard Quatre scream, they ran as fast as they can, not expecting to be greeted with the devastating sight. The room once clean was sprayed with red.
The smell it emitted was confirmation that it was blood. Trowa hurried to help Quatre while Wufei ran down the hallway to call sally.
Heero stood frozen, looking at the beautiful blood soaked wings that protruded out of Duo's back.
