Chapter 5

The morning had finally arrived and the sun light was shining through the small gap between the curtains. The alarm went of Rai hated the sound so early in the morning but he had no choice he had to get up. He sat up and this time Kai was still in his bed fast asleep “well at least you get to sleep in” he said to a sleepless Kai. He got up and yawned, had a stretch and went to get ready.

Rai was finally ready and headed to the elevator, he pressed the button for ground floor. Though it stopped when it got to the second floor. The doors opened and standing their was the young blonde who Rai had befriended since he first came to River Side. Max walked in “how are you Rai” he asked. “I’m fine thanks” Rai replied, their was abit of silence between the two when Max spoke. “I apologise for Galen’s rudeness the other day he stepped over the line” Max said. The elevator doors opened once they where on the ground floor.

“You don’t have to apologise Max and I am not angry at you or Galen I was just a bit surprised what he asked me that’s all” Rai replied. “Well I had Galen sleep on the couch anyway” Max laughed. Rai laughed with him, “so what are you to laughing at” they heard someone say. A young bluenette walked into the building. “Tyson hey oh nothing really” Max said “yeah sure” Tyson replied,

“So what are you doing here Tyson” Max asked him “I’m looking for someone, he has brown hair and always wears a bandana on his head” Tyson asked them. “So you’ve lost Cole I see” Max said. “He ran of with my hat I thought he might of come here” Tyson said. “Nope haven’t seen him sorry” Max replied. “Man he might be my boyfriend but when I get my hand on him he is toast” Tyson said and then ran of.

“My I don’t know how they keep their relationship together” Max said with a bit of a giggle. “I guess love is a strong thing” Ray said. Max looked at him and noticed that Rai had a bit of a sad look on his face. “Is something wrong Rai” Max asked him looking a little bit concerned for his friend. “Yeah I’m fine, well we better go other wise we will be late for class” Rai said putting a fake smile on his face. He started to walk of Max had a feeling that something was wrong with his new friend but he knew he shouldn’t but into someone else’s business.

Rai and Max both parted ways and headed of to their classes, saying that they would catch up at around 1:30pm when they had free time. Rai was really starting to like his new friends even though they had a very different strange personality but they were still nice. Besides they where his firsts friends and he was glad to have met them. Of course he still hadn’t met Cole, Tyson’s boyfriend. Though he knew he would meet him all in good time and wondered what he would be like.

Rai headed to his first class which was History which he hadn’t started yet. He found the classroom alright and sat down at one of the desks which were in the middle. He had gotten their 10 minutes early so he had to wait. “Rai” he looked up and saw that boy with red curly hair from drama class standing beside him. “Anyone sitting here” he asked Rai “no” he replied. “Kite right” Rai said why the boy sat down next to him. “Yeap that’s right I’m glad you remember” Kite said. “It seems that we will be doing history together” he told Rai “seems so” Rai replied.

The teacher soon arrived and the lesson began, Rai wasn’t really into history that much but he had to learn it otherwise he wouldn’t pass.

An hour and a half soon went by and the lesson finally finished. It was time to go to the next one which happened to be Art. Not the type of art where you paint and draw. No a different kind of art which is all about your body, it is a lesson for those who are taking acting courses. With dancing and acting and many others the body is all involved. Rai wasn’t sure what they would be doing so he just waited for the unexpected.

Once he got to the classroom their where already some students their and they where all in their little groups talking. Their where big blue mats all connected along the floor it was as if it was a big large mattress. He noticed that everyone’s books and bags where on the side of the wall under the two large windows. So Rai plopped his bag down near the many other bags and walked over to the mat and sat down.

He realised that Kite wasn’t in his class so he thought that he must be in another one or might have his lesson later. Their where some college students which he recognised from his drama class. ‘Well I’m glad he’s not in this class’ Rai thought to himself, meaning Kai of course. Unfortunately he thought to soon, the door’s opened and Rai turned around thinking it was the teacher but boy was he wrong. In walked none other than Kai Hiwatari himself, ‘this is just isn’t my week’ Rai then thought.

All the girls where whispering to one another and giggling as Kai walked past them. ‘Man I feel sorry for those girls they don’t even know that Kai can be such a dick head sometimes’ Rai thought. Kai happened to sit down a little bit near the front with two other guys, the door soon opened again and this time it was the teacher.


“Alright class I am Mrs Smith I will be your body arts teacher this year” she told the class. “Now all of you want to become actors correct” everyone nodded well nearly everyone. “Of course to become fine actors it is not just words that makes you go far it is also the body” she started saying. “The body is the main part of each character you play, it shows what the character is and what the character should be like” she continued. “There are times when your body needs to be graceful why acting and sometimes it needs to be broad and of course it is not just your body acting alone but there are others around you” she then said. “Like between a couple and romance or between fights and rustles”

“Now before we begin I want to give a demonstration on what I am talking about between two bodies” she said. “Um Kai Hiwatari as I already know you from last year and lets pick a freshman” she looked around the class. ‘Please not me, please not me, please not me’ Rai kept saying to himself in his thoughts. “Ah Rai Kon can you please come up here” she asked him ‘great it just had to be me’, “yes mam” he stood up and walked to the front.

“Now can every one please move back a bit” she asked all the other students, so they shuffled back making some more space at the front. ‘God I just want to crawl under a rock and hide’ Rai thought to himself.

“Now the both of you are going to pretend you are fighting over a girl ok” she told them both of them. Kai and Rai both faced each other “now Kai I want you to be the boyfriend and Rai you can be the one who steals his girlfriend away” she told them. “Um mam why do I have to be that one” Rai asked him. “It doesn’t matter who plays which part just as long as you both act it out and make it seem as real as possible” she replied. ‘Maybe I should have enrolled my self for wrestling first, Kai’s not going to go easy on me even if it is just a lesson on how to use your body’ Rai thought.

But before Rai could think of anything else he was on the ground with Kai on top of him. “Wait, wait” Mrs Smith walked over to them. “Rai you are supposed to be fighting Kai not day dreaming” she said. The class laughed “you wont go far in that acting career if you day dream now start again” she then sat back down.

“Okay begin”, Kai came towards Rai and was about to grab him when Rai moved to the side. “Now say things to each other to express the moment between two that want the same girl” the teacher said. “How could you I thought we were friends but taking my girlfriend away I should have known better” Kai said with a rage in his voice. “Well you don’t deserve her anyway” Rai replied back. “I will never forgive you” Kai grabbed Rai’s shoulder’s and brought him close. Rai’s face was just about an inch apart from Kai’s “you are a stupid idiot for ever trying to steal my girl” Kai said. Rai’s eyes widen he knew that when Kai said stupid idiot that was said directly at him. Kai then pushed him to the ground, after that slight remark something inside of Rai just snapped.

Rai quickly stood up and threw himself on Kai making them both land on the floor with Rai on top. Rai captured Kai’s wrists and put them to his sides why holding his legs together with his. Rai bend down making sure he was at least 2 centimetres from Kai’s face “nobody calls me an stupid idiot got that” Rai said to Kai with an angry glare. Kai knew that this wasn’t part of the demonstration at all.

“Bravo, bravo” Rai was brought back to reality when he heard his teacher saying bravo and clapping. He sat up even though he was still on top of Kai “my that was so real so magnificent so passionate, now you see class that is what I am talking about, bravo you may both sit back down now” she said. Rai was a bit confused he was being applauded by his teacher when those last few minutes was him actually not part of the demonstration. Well he was glad that his teacher liked it any way.

He then felt a tap on his leg and he looked down and noticed he was still on top of Kai. “Get of” he told Rai “uh uh so…sorry” and Rai quickly got of him. They both sat back down and made sure they where far apart from each other. “Rai likes Kai ha ha ha” a girl whispered to another girl “yeah he, he, he” the other girl laughed also. Rai heard them because they where right behind him. “I DO NOT” he yelled at the two girls behind him looking at them with an angry stare forgetting he was in class.

“Mr Kon I would like it if you did not yell in class” Mrs Smith told him “uh sorry” and Rai turned back around to face the front. He deffiently couldn’t wait until this class was finished and he could go to his next one.

It was finally Rai’s break he remembered that he was going to meet the others at the cafeteria. So he started to head over their. Once he got to the cafeteria he saw Max, Tyson, Galen and someone else sitting at the table. He walked over to them “hey guys” they all looked up and saw Rai coming towards them. “Hey Rai come and join us” Max said, so Rai sat down beside Max and looked across at Tyson and their guest.

“That’s Cole” Max said “Cole this is Rai he’s new here” Max said, “its nice to meet you Rai” he said. “Yeah you to, so would you be Tyson’s boyfriend then” he then asked “sure am aren’t I baby” he said and took Tyson’s face and kissed him. A blush came up on Ray’s cheeks he looked away for a bit. “So what are ya studying Rai” Cole asked him “I’m doing acting” Rai told him. “Acting huh cool, so I guess your in the same class as Kai then” he asked. “Yeah unfortunately” Rai replied with his head down. “Well your sure a lucky one now aren’t ya” Cole said laughing. “Not really him and I aren’t really the best of friends and what’s worst he is my roommate as well” Rai said. They all then laughed “you never told us that Rai” Max said a tear coming down his face from all the laughter.

“It’s not a laughing matter, that guy he’s such a pain he always calls me names and stuff he drives me crazy” Rai told them. “You know I’m surprised that he has even decided to share with someone” Cole said. “Yeah Kai’s not really the type to share with people” Tyson then said, “I asked him that but being the stubborn jerk as he is he just told me to shut it” Rai told them all. “It seems you have your hands full then” Galen told him.

They soon all got of that topic and started to eat their lunch and chatted some more before they headed to their next class.
