Vegeta ran his hands through his hair over and over, tears swimming in every sob coming from his mouth. This couldn\'t be happening....maybe he was just losing his mind....Kakarott couldn\'t be back.....he just couldn\'t......
A soft hand found his shoulder and his wife sat next to him. Silently, he looked at her.
That perfectly applied makeup had been smeared and washed away with grief of her own. There she looked sincere to him. Her delicate fingers over her own lips in a ghostly touch and the others clenching a small square of cloth tightly. She seemed helpless, hopeless, lifeless and lost to every meaning of the words.
She tried not to cry as she watched Vegeta wipe his own tears away. Bulma hugged her husband gently around the waist and let her head of blue hair rest on his clothed chest. Looking down on her, these were the times he remembered the good in her....and why he ever fell in love with her in the first place.
He lifted his hand and ran it through the few sds sds sprawled out in front of her ivory face.
God, she was so beautiful....those first nights they spent together in those satin sheets tightly jammed in each other\'s arms were the best times of his life.
Except for that one night...
The night he spent against Kakarott\'s damp hair, listening to his breathing, watching him sleep, crying into the old, worn cloth covering their bodies because he knew this would be the last time he could enjoy the mere presence of the only person that made him feel he wasn\'t so alone in this world.
Vegeta let out a sob as the tears became uncontrollable again.
It couldn\'t be true....all the things he had said. That he loved the prince...cared about him more than the world and EVERYONE in it...but, then again, he did prove it, didn\'t he?
Bulma rose and wrapped her arms around Vegeta, giving him that calming hiss against his ear as she patted his back. Slowly, he pulled his head from his hands and looked at her.
There he saw something he had missed for a long time. Caring, love, compassion...want. It had been so long since she gazed upon him with such a merciful look. Like he was worthy for the love of a gentle, innocent human.
Quickly, the prince grabbed her cheeks and pulled her face close to his, drowning in the smell of her faded perfume and clean breath. They pressed their lips together and held each other in a light kiss that was, oddly, full of every word never said to one another, every feeling ignored.
Vegeta let his hands slip to her sides as she tugged at the bottom of his midnight sweater. He lifted his arms and was freed of the cotton restraints.
For a moment, the woman stared at him. The scars over his chest were blinding with passed pain, but the rest of his skin seemed...untouched...alone...cold.
Her hurt ran down his cheeks as she kissed him again, pulling the prince on top of her. But the lip-lock was broken as he parted from her looking down on the panting form.
They were silent as rain poured from the gray skies, falling against the old windows oundounding them. Every small sound of the splitting drops was something more than words could ever say about their love, reading all the emotion in the eyes of torn mates.
\"Bulma?\" His voice was meek as a sob rolled over his tongue. She seemed to hold an odd looking in her blue eyes....desperation?
\"Yes?\" She answered him in a quiet voice and watched closely as the sayian turned his eyes away from the woman under him.
\"Do,\" He turned back.
\"Do you love me?\" She was unmoving and almost lost in his words as they wrapped around her soul. How could he be so unsure? How could he ask such a question?
\"Of course, Vegeta. I will always you you.\" He grinned as that gentle hand was placed on the wet skin of his face. Somehow...it was so fake to him. So unreaat hat he had to force himself to believe such words, but it worked.
\"Thank you.\" Another kiss and everything around them was gone. Again, they were alone in this world of lies and meaningless promises, but it didn\'t matter now, because the real world was even worse…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rain drenched his raven hair and made it hang around his shoulders loosely. The dark storm hiding him outside the closed window. He was almost numb watching them together...but it hurt too bad not to be felt.
Pain racked itself down his spine and over his ribs as his stomach lunged into his throat. Jealous, strained tears went unnoticed in the rain and he wondered...
Was everything really different now? Was it all over? Everything he gave up, everything he lost?
His hand slid from the white window seal and he pulled it to his tired eyes.
Why did it have to be this way?
Slowly, he let himself fall against and then down the muddy brick wall in front of him and he tucked his knees under his chin, staring into the trees opposite him. Wind disturbed the grass and every now-and-then person walking by. He wished now that things were different. That Vegeta loved him as much as he was loved, that the rest of them were still gone.
Vegeta...his lover, his prince, his god......was only imaginary now. Had he really become that human over the years? Was it really so easy for the royal to fit in with these lifeless creatures?
Goku refused to believe such a story...but the truth was, maybe that was all the older sayian really wanted.
Acceptance from a place that didn\'t accept.
His head fell into his hands as he began shaking. He could have given Vegeta so much more than this artificial nothing! He could have granted every wish ever desire!
But it seemed hopeless now.
Cries of passion reached Kakarott from inside the thick walls and he clamped his palms over his ears and wept to himself.
He would do anything to hear those same yelps and moans under him once more.
Gritting his teeth, the hero slammed his fist into the mud below him.
What a fucking traitor! How could he do this to the third class!? Doesn\'t that silly prince relize they belong together?
Goku stood and glanced at the inside of the window again before turning away. Maybe he would come to his scenes eventually...well, with a little help.
Walking away, he smirked. It could be that it wouldn\'t be so bad being \'normal\' again; after all there was a lesson to be learned here.
It was time for Vegeta to see the true colors of these monsters.
\'Vegeta, we will be together again, I promise, my love.\'
\"Gohan! This one is finished!\" Chichi let her hand fall from her mouth as she let her knee prop up the laundry basket. She grumbled to herself as she set the large, plastic container on the rickety table before her. Wiping her forehead quickly, she pushed her hands into the pile of clean cloth and worked her magic.
\'Damn...a vacation my ass! Staying at someone else\'s home and still, I\'m doing laundry for them...er.....I mean....her. Just because her husband died doesn\'t mean she has to send her GUESTS out to do her chores, I mean that\'s happened to me plenty of times, but I still did my own house work!......\'
Gohan greeted his mother with a smile as he pushed up his glasses.
\"Ummmm.....we\'re out of detergent. I\'ll go run to the store and get some more, k?\" She sighed but looked back at her son with the same kind smile.
\"Okay, but hurry back, it\'s late.\" Gohan nodded and turned on his heal, walking for the door. Soon, he was out of sight and Chichi lifted an arm to wipe a line of sweat from her forehead.
It had been such a long day.....such a long week. It almost seemed wrong to go somewhere so nice, like this huge city, without her husband. She seemed to miss him more than ever this time of his absence. Maybe it was because Gohan was already gone and Goten was soon to follow.
A small white towel came to her hands and she sighed, stopping and staring into the untouched color. So many things reminded her of the lost hero, and yet they provided no comfort.
Tears flooded her ebony eyes and she shook with the pain inside her.
Suddenly, something distracted her. The door to the laundry mat opened again and she glanced back at the figure approaching.
\"Gohan, is that you?\"
\'Since we are the only idiots here this late at night...\' thought Chichi to herself.
Her breath was still in her lungs as the face came into view. Those beautiful curves covered in a trench coat and wet mud. His hair guarding the priceless features of his pale face.
\"G-Goku!??\" she asked with urgency. He smiled at her.
\"Long time no see.\" The woman before him let the towel drop from her hands and ran to her mate. She cried into his wet t-shirt, drowning in the smell of rain on his soft skin.
\"I missed you so much!\" She clung to him as if he would leave her again. Like something more important would introduce itself. So many nights she had spent with him fearing those very moments.
\"Shhhh....\" Her placed a hand on her head and watched her sob against him.
\"There, there.....don\'t cry, love.\" She seemed to ignore his word for a moment, but eventually let him go and wiped her eyes.
\"I-I\'m sorry, honey. I just...I just missed you an-\"
\"Look,\" He put his palm on her face and wiped to warm tears away with his thumb.
\"There is nothing to worry about now.....but, you know,\" Chichi touched her husband\'s hand and watched him closely.
\"Yes! Yes, what is it?\" Goku was silent but grinned quickly.
\"You should finish this, maybe I can help you.\" A frown came to her face and she shook her head harshly, closing her eyes.
\"No, forget about this. You\'re here I want to be wit-\"
\"No!\" He almost screamed at her. Chichi flinched away from him in surprise. Goku calmed himself and looked at his wife sweetly once more.
\'No...\" He walked closer to the woman and reached out his hand to her.
\"We should get this finished. It would be rude if we didn\'t.\" Instead of embracing his hand, Chichi pulled her own to her chest and took another step back.
\"Goku, your acting strange.....\" He was angry with her now. Slowly, pulled his hand back and fisted \"Am I?” He seemed to get more and more angry as he spoke. \"Chichi, is this how you treat me after so long? Fine.\" The sayian turned and crossed his arms over his large chest.
\"Maybe I should just leave. Maybe this was all just a bad idea.\" He saw her face twist with panic as he said his words. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but he spoke instead..
\"I mean,\" Goku spun on his heel to face his wife with a wide grin.
\"Can\'t a man act \'a bit strange\' every now and then?\" Her eyes filled with horror and she took another step back.
\"You\'re scaring me...\" He laughed now, getting closer.
\"No.\" The statement almost sounded like a joke, but still it chilled the woman down to every fiber. Kakarott placed his hands behind his back and bent his head.
\"You want to see something scary?\" There was silence as he looked at her again.
\"How about the darkness of your own eye lids melted into your face?\" The black haired beauty screamed and turned to run from her mate. Suddenly, the sayian was before her, snatching up her wrists and pulling her close.
\"That was stupid.\" He dragged the loud female to the long ironing board standing beside them. She was slammed onto it harshly as Kakarott glanced at the small quarter machine holding the orange cord of the small device next to it. Quickly, he reached into his own pocket and pulled out, not change, but a clear, blue lighter.
\"Open your eyes, whore.\" His teeth held together as he spoke to the woman under his grip. She squirmed under the fisted hand on her throt, tugging at it weakly. But she refused to open her eyes. She wouldn\'t, she couldn\'t. Tears ran down the ageing face. This couldn\'t be the man she loved.
\"OPEN YOUR EYES!!!\" The order shocked her more than anything and they flung open. Ebony met ebony in that cold stare and there was silence. She looked away. Lighting the tiny tool in his hand, Goku smiled.
\"See this? You\'re not even worth paying for!\" One finger holding the lighter pointed to the change box and another sob escaped the woman.
Goku let her go and she shook with her weeping but was unable to lift herself from the heartache she was drowning in on that piece of metal. Small hands reached up to comfort her face as she closed her eyes again.
The sayian sighed as he grabbed the iron, holding the falme to it in a steady manner.
\"You know,\" His voice was so clam in the situation.
\"This would work so much better if I hasd just plugged this in, but you know why I didn\'t do that?\" There was no answer to his question and his temper flared at the thought of being ignored.
\"ASK ME WHY!!\"
\"WHY!!!????\" She sounded as if she was dieing there.
\"Because,\" He leaned down in her face, keeping his hand steady with the fire he held.
\"I want to see you suffer....just as you made me suffer for so long.\" He let the flame fde from its metal holder and placed the hot iron on his wife\'s skin. With a scream, her eye lid began to merge with the skin on her cheek. Every eye lash was burned away in the process.
Goku pulled his weapon away and gazed upon the blood-covered, fleshy lump over her eye and he forced the sheet of metal on Chichi\'s right eye, pressing down hard.
\"ARE YOU FUCKING SUFFERING!!!!????? HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE BROKEN!!!???? BETRAYED!!!!????\" Tears ran from his own eyes now and he sob as he removed the hot metal and put it over her nose and mouth, leaning against the thin board. His wife\'s screaming lips were sile and and sweat dripped into her tears as more skin melted from her pretty face.
Arching her back, the woman took her last breath before the heat sealed the last openings on her face. Muffled yelps of pain went unnoticed to the sayian as he fell to the floor in a heap of tears.
In his heart, Goku knew Vegeta still would not love him for this and it broke the third class to think of this truth. But it was something he would have to face.....and maybe this time he couldn\'t solve it the way he wished.
The dark head fell into his hands as he sobed harder, the rain slamming against the glass around him.
But tonight the skies did not cry for him, they wept with him.
