Chapter 6: Weathering the Storm
Goku came home from his vacation with Vegeta to find his house in shambles. The walls
had holes in them, the furniture was totaled, and worst of all: The fridge was empty! Goku didn’t
know how to go about fixing the mess, ever since Chi-Chi left him, he usually kept the house
clean in order to avoid having to clean it later. Goku attempted to clean the house, but was
interrupted when he heard someone in the house crying. He ran through the house and found the
crying coming from Goten’s room. He walked over to his son and asked him, “Goten, what’s
wrong?”
Goten looked up at his father, his eyes were red and puffy from crying. “Dad.” he said in
a pitiful whisper. “It’s Trunks. Something’s happened to him.” Goten dropped his head as if
registering to see if what he said was true. “He’s become so cold-hearted, he was so unlike
himself yesterday. He told me how he only got into the relationship so he wouldn’t have to see
me cry and he told me he hated me!” Goten began to cry again. Goku laughed. Goten face
changed from depressed, to pure confusion. “Mind if I ask what’s so damn funny?!” he said in a
frustrated voice.
Goku stopped laughing. “Sorry GoR” he said while trying to hold back a grin. “I was
laughing because Trunks proved that he does love you by saying what was meant to hurt you.”
Goku explained.
Goten shot him another confused look. “What do you mean?”. he asked.
“I mean that when he said, ‘I only got into the relationship so I wouldn’t have to see you
cry’, he actually proved that he loved you. Understand now?” Goku looked at his son with a
hopeful smile. Goten smiled back at him and said, “I think I do dad, thanks.” Goten got out of the
bed and went to the bathroom, he bathed and put on his clothes. On his way out he ran past a
mirror and saw himself. He looked at his face it was beautiful, but there was one thing about it
that bothered him, his hair. His hair was like a giant horn sticking out of his head. He decided he
liked it the way it was when he was kid better, like his dad’s. So, he decided to cut it, and in a
few minuets he had his old hairstyle back. After doing his hair Goten flew out the house towards
Capsule Corp.
Once he got there he was instantly met by Vegeta. “What do you want?” said Vegeta
immediately. Goten simply gave him a like you don’t know look. Vegeta stepped aside and went
into the kitchen. Goten got to Trunks’ room and knocked on the door.
“Who is it?” asked Trunks.
“It’s me! Goten.” replied Goten.
“In that case, don’t come in!” said Trunks in a nasty voice.
“Why?” asked Goten.
“Cause I don’t want you here, faggot!” Yelled Trunks.
That was it. Goten was shaking with anger. How dare Trunks call him a faggot. Goten
knocked down the door, and there was Trunks, with Janet! Trunks had a shocked look on his
face. “Get out!” were Goten’s first words to Janet. She looked at him as if she would do
something. “Maybe you didn’t hear me, I said get out!” With that, Goten punched a hole through
the wall and Janet ran out as fast as she could.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Trunks asked.
“Trying to see why you are acting so weird, why Trunks? Why did you act like that last
night?” Goten asked in a confident voice that almost scared Trunks.
but Goten saw right through him.
“Don’t pull that macho bullshit!” he yelled at Trunks. He approached Trunks again and
Trunks almost fell when he took a step back. “Now answer me!” Trunks gave no answer.
“Fine, I’ll guess I’ll have to get the answer out of you the hard way.” With that, Goten
punched Trunks hard and sent him flying through the wall and straight into Vegeta’s gravity
room. Trunks got up and flew at Goten, he threw a punch. Goten dodged it and grabbed Trunks
by the hair and slammed him into the floor. He let him go and asked, “Ready to answer yet?”
Trunks just got and vanished. “Hmmm, guess not.” said Goten.
Trunks was trying to overwhelm Goten with his speed, but it didn’t work. Every move
Trunks made Goten was ready for and countered it easily. Trunks was surprised, and decided he
had to become serious in order to stop Goten. He went over to the control panel and set the
gravity setting to 900 x earth’s normal gravity. “Ha!” said Trunks in a confident voice. “You
can’t beat me at this level.” Both boys weren’t able to stand and were on their knees.
“Fool!” said Goten in a cold voice. Goten stood up and went to ssj. Trunks did the same.
“Goten. You know that won’t work, I can go to any level of super saijin that you can.” he
said with a grin.
㺼&60; “Can you?” Goten instantly went to ssj2, but so did Trunks.
“Like I said Goten, it won’t work.” said Trunks.
“This doesn’t come as a surprise.” said Goten. “I expected you to be able to go to this
level. A son is the reflection of his father, and in terms of power and attitude you are just like
Vegeta.” Trunks’ expression did not change. “And the same is true of me!” Trunks’ expression
changed from confidence to fear and dis-belief.
“You can’t be serious, Goten?” asked Trunks warily.
“Why would I lie?” With that Trunks let out an earthshaking pulse of energy, his power
level began to rise and Trunks watched in dis-belief as Goten changed before his very eyes. His
eyes looked like Trunks’ eyes, but remained that turquoise green, his eyebrows disappeared, and
as final proof of Goten’s power, his hair grew to his waist. “Still think I’m lying?” asked Goten
in a chillingly cool voice.
“How... How?” asked Trunks.
㺼&60; “You really should be more concerned with how you should deal with me now that I’ve
reached this level.” said Goten in a playful voice. Trunks tried to get out of the room, but Goten
easily intercepted him. In desperation Trunks threw a punch, but Goten caught it and gave Trunks
a kick to the stomach, he crumpled over and was unconscious.
Trunks awoke a few hours later, he was in his bed, and at the end of it was Goten. “How
are you feeling?” asked Goten.
Trunks sat up. “Alright I guess.” He looked at Goten and his eyes filled with tears.
“Goten, I’m so sorry for whatid, id, I truly am.” he said as he buried his head in Goten’s chest. “I
don’t know why I did all of those things. It was as if, something was possessing me.” Goten
looked at him compassionately.
“It’s alright Trunks-kun.” he said.
㺼&60; “Goten, I know what I said the other day and I’m sorry. I don’t hate you. I don’t, I love
you, with all my heart, I really do!” he protested.
“I believe you Trunks.” said Goten happily. “I never truly thought you hated me, I know
you love me.” he said.
“Oh Goten!” said Trunks as he buried his head in Goten’s chest again.
Goten put his forehead in Trunks’ hair. Finally, I have you back Trunks. I’m sorry that
you went through what you went through. I truly am. I’ll be here for you though, to help you
through the rest of your journey, our journey. Goten, we will make it, I promise you that.
