ATTENTION!!! - I have uploaded 2 chapters at once. If you went from chapter 6 to this chapter (chapter 8) then you have skipped one. If you wish to know what's happening in the story, I suggest going back to read chapter 7. Thank you and sorry for the confusion.
A loud banging sound echoed through the empty facility…well, so the source of the banging thought. A man with long wavy hair cautiously entered the facility with renewed curiosity. He eyed the room he entered then a confused look overcame his handsome features. The metal tables and regeneration tanks quirked his brow all the more. What was this place? He noticed a door to his right and went through it. Pipes lined the hallway he was in and followed it to many other hallways. The man looked left and right, wondering which way to go, when a peculiar but all too familiar scent caught his nose. His heart fluttered nervously in his chest as he followed the scent. It seemed to get stronger, although it appeared to be throughout the facility, but he decided to follow what seemed to be the source. It led him to a door with carvings of different animal names that were also written in red. The man scrunched his nose at the red coloring as the scent assaulted him all the more. He had a strong feeling that death was behind this door. Hesitantly, he opened it and was welcomed with rotting corpses that were slowly decomposing in what appeared to be a freezer. He gasped at the scene before him and immediately covered his mouth and nose with his hand.
He narrowed his eyes at all the dead bodies before him, trying not to lose the contents of his stomach. They lied in different positions, forever stiffened to the point where they couldn’t be moved out of that position…even if someone wanted to. Slowly, he made his way into the brightly lit room, making sure to avoid the somewhat fresh puddles of blood on the floor. He stopped in the middle of the room and eyed a couple of the corpses. The one in front of him seemed to be bolted to the wall with its limbs spread out, half of it was missing its flesh. His eyes moved to another when something caught his eye. He moved his glance to a corpse that seemed strangely familiar. However, its flesh was badly burned, but not to the point where it couldn’t be unrecognizable. It appeared to have had second degree burn. Blisters and such littered its nude charred body and appeared to have died not long ago. A few weeks tops. There also appeared to be something sticking out of the body’s forehead and blood trailed down its face. The face though…the face is what struck him. It appeared to be handsome once, but cuts and bruises shaped it differently, along with the blisters. Suddenly, it hit him. Son Gohan. He was the noble tsukai that went missing a couple years back. What’s he doing here? The man slowly turned towards the doorway he came through and gave it a look of confusion, as if sending the look towards someone in a far off direction.
He turned back towards the corpse and was about to take a closer look when something dripped down in front of him. He looked down to see a drop of blood land right in front of his white boot. He looked up then to see a body nailed to the ceiling. It was fresh. Perhaps he’s still be alive. The man floated up towards the body. Blood covered most of its white clothing, however, its life still dripped from the wounds that the nails made in his hands and legs. The man narrowed his eyes at the wounds. Could…could he really have done this? What would drive him to do such a thing? The man slowly brought up a warm hand and placed it on a cool cheek. The man sighed sadly, he was dead. Pity, he appeared to be quite lovely. His hair was untamed and stuck out in all directions. So wild and adorable at the same time. His features were soft and innocent looking. Hell, the poor thing looked to be about eighteen. Still a child and yet he met his unfortunate end.
The man ran his hand through the unruly hair and trailed his hand down the side of his face and to his chin in thought. This room…all these corpses…appeared to be tsukais. Why is that? Why them? What did they do wrong? The Saiyan appeared to be piecing something together in his head when the cold unmoving lips before him let out a pained groan. He jumped back in surprise. How could he still be alive?! With all that blood loss, he should be dead! Cautiously, he moved forward and placed his hand back where it was on the boy’s cheek. The boy appeared to feel it and tried nuzzling it, but couldn’t move his head that much. “H-Hello?” The man asked, unsure of what to do or say. The boy groaned again but didn’t respond. “What happened to you?” He held the boy’s head with two hands, since he seemed to be having a hard time keeping it up. The boy gradually opened his eyes since a new voice decided to grace his ears. His vision was blurry and his eyes were tired, unable to keep them open for long and closed them again. The man panicked, fearing that the child died. “Hey! Don’t die! I’ll get you out of here! Don’t die!” Immediately he went to work by pulling out the nails that held the boy to the ceiling. More blood poured out but the child didn’t make a sound. As soon as all the nails were out, he held onto the boy before he could fall and floated down to the floor. He held the boy in his arms and shook him lightly. “Hey, hey! Wake up! Please! Show me that you’re alive!” The man ran his hand over the boy’s pale forehead to push back a few strands of hair. The black hair contrasted greatly against the alabaster skin that colored the boy’s body, obviously a result from all the blood loss, but at the same time, he couldn’t help but think it was beautiful.
The boy slowly opened his eyes again from the man’s voice and his gentle touches. Who was this man? What’s he doing here? These questions vaguely passed through his barely conscious mind as his blurry vision took in what looked to be a fairly handsome man with a gold headband around his head. Was he nobility? Perhaps he was another one of Vegeta’s betrothed’s. Too bad. He’s quite good looking.
“That’s right. Stay awake for me. I’m going to get you out of here.” The man said with determination and lifted him into his arms. The boy’s heart couldn’t help but flutter a little in hope, a feeling that he thought he couldn’t feel anymore. Just when the man turned to leave, someone was blocking his exit. The man paused as he stared at the seething look on the other’s face. “Vegeta-“
“Brolly, what are you doing here?” The prince asked in an angry tone that sounded like it was going to scream at him any minute. He began advancing towards the other as soon as he started asking his question, but Brolly stood his ground. He wasn’t afraid of anything or anyone for that matter.
“I’ve been following you for the past few weeks. I’ve been wondering where you’ve been heading off to all this time. Now I see why this was more important than listening to my proposal.” He looked off to the side, a little hurt, but tried not to let it bother him and looked back to his betrothed.
Vegeta took another menacing step forward. “Now I can’t let you leave. You’ll tell them. You’ll tell everyone. No one must know of this place…no one!” He stopped right in front of him with his fists clenched. It seemed that the very idea would kick him off his rocker. Brolly scowled when the bundle in his arms whimpered at Vegeta’s voice. “And you’re absolutely fucking mad if you think I’m going to let you leave with my kitten!” The royal yelled at the top of his lungs.
Brolly gave his betrothed a surprised look. Kitten? He’ll question that later. His expression turned into a scowl. “Vegeta, do you honestly believe that you can keep me here?” He asked with skepticism in his tone and raised a brow.
Vegeta growled and clenched his fists so tight that his nails dug through his gloves and into his palms, cutting them. “Don’t…you…dare throw THAT in my goddamn face or you’ll fucking regret it!” He seethed with uncontrollable rage.
Brolly sighed. “Vegeta, you need help. This isn’t right. They’re all tsukais. What have any of them done wrong?”
The royal laughed manically then ended it with a HA! “It’s not what they have done wrong, it’s what they are!”
The other raised a brow in confusion again. “But Vegeta, you’re one of them too.” It took a moment before it soaked in. “Does this have anything to do with your father-“
“NO! Shut up! Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up! You know nothing! You know absolutely nothing!” Vegeta swung his arms around in his fury, gesturing wildly with his words. Brolly had to take a few steps back from this questionable behavior.
It’s very strange. One day, Vegeta’s bored out of his mind and doesn’t seem to be interested in anything. The next, he’s flirting with him nonstop and trying to convince him to sleep with him and now…Brolly didn’t even know. He was at a loss to this behavior. However, he didn’t have time to dwell on it now. This boy’s life was in his hands and he wasn’t about to waste any more time here. Brolly shook his thoughts away and put on an intimidating look. “Vegeta, I don’t have time to discuss this with you. For now, I just want this boy healed before he bleeds to death. We’ll talk about this later.” He walked past his betrothed and out of the room.
Vegeta ran out in the hall after him. “No! You can’t leave!” For a moment, Vegeta looked lost at what to do. The man wasn’t a tsukai, therefore he couldn’t strike fear into him nor tell him what to do. Wait…yes he can. He’s the prince. “I order you not to leave here! And you’re not taking Kakarot with you!” His ki burst around him in his anger and he raced forward.
Brolly quickly but carefully set Kakarot on a table once he re-entered the room he started in and prepared for the attack by getting in a defensive pose. A calculating stare overtook his angered features as if predicting his next move. Vegeta charged head on and aimed a punch at the other’s face, but his fist was caught and so was the other that was aimed for the same spot. He was quickly pinned to the wall with his arms above his head. Vegeta cursed and thrashed in his grip, absolutely hating it all the more since Brolly didn’t have to power up at all to subdue him. Brolly placed his forehead against the royal’s in a calming manner. “Calm down.” He ordered.
“How dare you tell me what to do! You’ll never dominate me! Never!” Vegeta went to knee his betrothed in the stomach but missed when he pulled back then rammed his forehead against his, successfully knocking him out.
Brolly sighed as he caught Vegeta before he fell to the floor then threw him over his shoulder. He calmly, but quickly made his way back to where he left his burden earlier and checked to see if the boy was still breathing. He breathed a sigh of relief when he felt a pulse, it was weak, but there. He carefully picked him up with a strong arm and left the facility.

Tired, dull eyes opened slightly when consciousness came back to him. All he could see was green and an odd sensation of floating. Was he…dead? Was this death? If so, it didn’t seem so bad. There was no pain, only exhaustion and numbness. All he wanted to do was sleep, but maybe that was a good thing. Maybe that’s what he was supposed to do…maybe, that’s what happened when one dies. They just sleep for eternity and dream. Yeah…he liked this. This was…nice…
Thoughts soon drifted away as blurry eyes slid closed. Finally, he was at peace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another pair of tired eyes opened, however, a look of confusion crossed through them before realization hit him. He quickly sat up only to be hit by a bout of dizziness, but soon caught his bearings and sat up. He recognized the room as his, but didn’t take it into consideration and quickly headed for the door. Before he could open it, a voice stopped him. “Oh, good. You’re awake.” The voice didn’t seem at all pleased. In fact, it sounded like the man regretted that he was awake at all. “Brolly told me everything.”
Vegeta quickly turned around to face his father. A look of seething hatred on his face. “I’ll kill him.” He whispered threateningly.
The king advanced towards him. “Not if I kill you first!” Suddenly a hand whipped out and backhanded the prince across the face. “What the fuck is wrong with you?! Those were all tsukais! You know how important they are to our survival! And yet, here you are killing them as if they’re so common!” He grabbed his son’s spandex suit around his collar and yanked him upwards and up against the door. “Maybe you want to be the only one that gets fucked. Are you jealous of them? Is that it? Jealous that they’re stronger than you?!” The king’s voice started out calm before it gradually became angrier.
“Shut up!” Vegeta shouted in his father’s face before he was slapped again.
“Don’t tell ‘me’ what to do, boy. I’m not one of your fucked up victims. Pretty sick from what I’ve heard. I’m surprised one of them survived.”
Vegeta perked up at this. “What do you mean ‘from what you’ve heard?’ What’s happened?” Panic began to rise in him.
The king couldn’t help but smirk slightly. “They’re cleaning out your closet of corpses as we speak.”
Vegeta gasped. “No…” He shook his head as his eyes glazed over in a far off look. “NO!” He violently pushed his father away before busting through his door and running down the hall.
The king followed his son into the hall, but made no move to run after him. He pulled out his scouter from his breast plate and placed it on his ear and over his eye. A few buttons and he was calling the general of his army. “Nappa, I want you and a handful of your best men in area 65. Subdue the prince by any means necessary and bring him back to the palace. It’s time he grew up.”
By the time Vegeta got to his little hideout, a medical team and a few members of the royal council were surrounding it and going in and out of it. Well, what little there was of it to be seen. Only the chimney could be seen from above and on the ground. The rest of it buried in sand. Without landing, he rushed inside and ran down the familiar halls shoving people aside. By the time he got to his closet, body bags were being taken in and the bodies were being hauled out in them. Seeing this made something snap inside him. “No…” His closet. His room with ‘his’ pets and ‘his’ victims. They were his…no one else’s. He captured them. He toyed with them. He had them. He made them bleed…he made them cry…he made them break. They were his trophies…his accomplishments…and they were taking them away from him. “NO!” He charged forward, pushing more people out of his way and making his way into the room. What he saw literally stopped him in his tracks. His cold ice chest was empty…all except for one…his first victim, still bolted to the wall where the medics were trying to get him down. “No! Stay away!” He rushed forward and pushed them away then stood between them and his dead toy. “You can’t have him! You can’t have any of them!” He snarled and growled in warning when they tried to get close again.
“Your highness,” A bulky man stepped into the room, his giant form screaming of intimidation and authority. “I have been ordered to take you back to the palace. Either come quietly or I’ll have to use force.” His deep voice commanded.
The prince growled. “Never! You can’t take them away! They’re mine! How dare you take what isn’t yours!” He moved to attack, but stopped when he realized his remaining victim still needed his protection. He stood his ground and moved back to lean against the hanging corpse behind him.
The man moved closer, a calm air about him. “Please, my prince. Don’t make this any harder for yourself.”
Vegeta snapped his teeth. “Fuck you, Nappa! You AND my father!”
Nappa sighed before giving his orders. “You heard him men. We shall take the prince by force.” At his order, six men came out from behind their general in defense poses and gradually advanced towards him.
Vegeta’s eyes widened at the men then huffed and growled in warning. “Stay away…” They didn’t listen as they continued advancing. “I said stay the fuck away!” He threw a ki blast then another at a few of them. All of them dodged to the side before charging at him. The medical team was already on the other side of the room and out of the way.
The royal caught one soldier’s fist and brought him forward, colliding his knee into his gut. He kicked the man away when he doubled over and two more took his place. Vegeta blocked and dodged a few hits before breaking one of their necks and throwing him across the room. Two more took their dead comrade’s place and before Vegeta knew it, he was being pinned to the wall next to his dead victim, his face being pushed into the cold steel. He shouted out his frustration as he heard clanking sounds behind him. He tried retrieving his arm back, which was twisted behind him and pinned to his back, but when that didn’t work, he then went for the next tactic by kicking away from the wall and throwing his head back and colliding it with another man’s head behind him. The man released him, only for another to grab a hold of his wrists. Vegeta growled and thrashed in his grip. “Do it!” The man said to another behind the prince.
Another soldier came up behind Vegeta and placed a ki restraint on his tail, right after the man in front of the royal got kneed in the stomach. Vegeta swiftly turned when he felt the cold metal on him and slapped the man harshly across the face. “How…dare you put a ki restraint on me!” He shouted in uncontrollable rage before a few men grabbed a hold of him from behind and began dragging him out of the room. “Let go of me this instant! How dare you do this to me! I am your prince and you will treat me as such!” He eyed the corpse on the wall before being dragged out of the room. “You can’t take them! They belong here! They don’t deserve to be buried with the maggots! They’re weaker and more pathetic! They deserve worse! They’re the weak ones!” He panted as he ranted then tried escaping from the hold on him. “Let go of me, you insignificant, low life waste of Saiyan flesh!! You have no idea what you’re fucking dealing with!”
He thrashed in the hold more, which made Nappa bark out more orders. “Get another one on him then hurry up and get him out of here!”
Vegeta shouted and cursed when he felt another restraint on him and his power leave him. He stopped his thrashing afterwards as tears of defeat and frustration formed in his eyes. “I’ll kill you all.” He breathed out as he was escorted out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When they returned to the palace, they were greeted by the king, who stood with his arms stiff at his sides and a scowl on his face. “Welcome home, brat. Are you done making a fool of yourself?”
Vegeta sneered and spit at his feet. “Well, you got me. Now what are you going to do with me?” He practically rolled his eyes when his mind went through possible ways of punishment. They couldn’t break him. Not to mention no punishment would be severe enough for him, he was the prince after all. Honestly, he didn’t understand why they were making a big deal about this. Except for the part where he killed a handful or more of the most important Saiyans on the planet, but other than that…
The king smirked sadistically. “Let’s see. It’s been two years now since you’ve first been betrothed and should have given me a grandchild by now. Speaking of which, what really happened to all thirty-five possible mates in that time?”
Vegeta gritted his teeth when his father mentioned about giving him a grandchild, but then laughed when he asked about his now deceased betrotheds. “What do you think? I made sure they died in a slow and painful way. Their blood is spread across the wasteland I made a hell.”
The king growled and moved forward to grab a hold of his son’s armor and yanked him up slightly. “This isn’t funny you little shit. Now I have to explain to their fathers why they’re sons are missing and all because of a selfish, scared little prince that was afraid to fornicate with someone other than a tsukai.” He sneered in disgust and released him as if he were some foul creature…he wasn’t far off. “As for your punishment, I’d say you’re overdue in your duties as a tsukai.” He turned towards the group of soldiers holding his son. “Take him to the lab.”
Vegeta’s eyes widened at his father’s words before it finally clicked. “No! No you can’t do this to me! Let go of me this instant!” The men holding him began pushing him towards the direction of the medical lab. However, he still managed to resist, despite having two ki restraints on him.
The king growled at his son’s resistance and barked at a certain general. “Nappa!”
Without hesitation, Nappa came up behind the struggling prince then picked him up and hauled him over his shoulder. Vegeta yelped at being man-handled and began struggling all the more. “Damn it, Nappa! Put me down!” He pounded at his back as hard as he could, but all he got were bruised fists. “I said put me down damn it!” His heart pounded wildly in his chest when he heard the med labs door open. He began kicking his legs then and trying to knee the general in the chest and stomach. Suddenly he was thrown down onto a metal table. He shouted at the unexpected drop, then tried escaping all the more.
“Restrain him!” The king barked.
Vegeta didn’t get far when the soldiers immediately obeyed their king’s order. “I’ll kill you all! Do you hear me?! I’ll fucking kill you!” Vegeta looked around in a panic, looking for anything to save him, when he found a twisted utensil sitting near him on a little metal stand. He moved his arm back to punch the man who had a hold of him and quickly snatched it then swiftly stabbed the man who had his other arm in the side of the neck, successfully hitting his artery. Blood gushed and squirted everywhere, causing blood to drench him and everyone around him. He moved to get off the table but found his legs already restrained. Before he could even try to get himself loose, he was thrown back on the table again and successfully restrained.
The soldiers moved back as Vegeta struggled, however, his bonds wouldn’t give. The king walked up next to him with a glare and a sneer before giving his soldiers another command without turning away. “Restrain his thighs as well.”
Vegeta panicked at the order as the soldiers immediately did what they were told. Why won’t they listen to him? Even before all the shit hit the fan, they didn’t do a damn thing he told them. His breathing sped up when he felt the restraints circle his thighs and kept them in place. He tried with all his might to move, but it was futile. The king turned from his son to a doctor a few feet away. “Do it.” The doctor nodded in understanding before grabbing a plastic container next to him and brought it to him. “Is it warm?”
The doctor nodded again. “Yes. They should be active.”
Vegeta eyed the container and the substance in it. “Wh-What is it?”
The king didn’t turn towards him but answered anyway. “Sperm.”
Vegeta’s eyes widened in panic. “What the fuck?! What are you going to do with it?!” He knew the answer, but all in all, he didn’t know reason for it.
The king turned to him and scowled as the doctor moved away at the other end of the table, where Vegeta’s legs were splayed out for him. “Isn’t it obvious? You’re going to be impregnated.”
“WHAT?! No fucking way! Get it away from me!” Vegeta started struggling again.
The king grabbed a hold of the prince’s hair and slammed his head back on the table. Vegeta screamed at the impact as a momentary dizziness overcame him. “Stop struggling! You’ve brought this upon yourself! If you would’ve done what you were supposed to, you wouldn’t be in this position!” He growled in his face.
“FUCK YOU! I rather die slowly than let some dumb fucking horn dogs dominate me and make me bear their child!” Vegeta spat back.
Fury overcame the king’s eyes for a moment before becoming calm again. “Well, then it’s about time that pride of yours gets brought down. You’re such a disappointment.” He said simply before tightening his hold on his hair for a moment then let go.
Vegeta’s eyes showed sorrow and hopelessness for a split second as his heart felt like it was being crushed. Suddenly, his pants were torn away by his father’s gloved fist, keeping his calves covered all the way to mid-thigh where the restraints held him. Vegeta shouted out in surprise at the action and suddenly felt vulnerable to the doctor’s evil intentions. His breathing sped up when the doctor prepared the sperm and brought it closer to his lower body. “Fuck…who’s is it?” He asked timidly with a bit of fear.
“Brolly’s. He was kind enough to oblige in helping the royal bloodline continue.” The king said simply as he watched the doctor do his thing.
“What?!” Vegeta immediately started struggling again, so much so that his bonds started chaffing his wrists and ankles and the ones around his thighs kept his muscles from tensing at the action. “Keep that shit away from me or I swear to your God that you’ll be seeing him sooner than you think!” He gave the doctor a warning glare until the doctor stopped.
The suddenly scared man looked up at his king, who nodded at him to continue before he reluctantly did so. Vegeta tried pushing himself away, but alas, he couldn’t move. He tensed and sucked in a panicked breath when he felt the tip of the plastic syringe touch his tensed entrance before carefully pushing in. “NO! STOP! AHHHHHH!” He screamed in frustration when it pushed through his tight ring and continued entering him. There was hesitation when he screamed, but it forced its way into him nonetheless. He continued screaming out his frustration until the syringe stopped at its desired depth then began to thrash and throw a fit when it ejected the warm liquid within. “NOOOOOO!” He threw his head from side to side in denial as frustrated tears formed and leaked out of his eyes. “YOU BASTARDS! YOU’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!” He continued his threats until the syringe withdrew and left him empty with the white substance leaking out of him. He suddenly grew silent as he laid there in defeat with his eyes clenched shut and the tears falling from them. Vegeta turned his head towards his father with absolute hate practically glowing from them. “I…h-hate you.” He sobbed out.
The king almost felt bad for doing this to his son…almost. However, not too deep down, he knew his son deserved this. Not to mention it had to be done. His son absolutely refused any male that wanted to court him or sleep with him for that matter and he couldn’t have that. He looked up at the doctor then. “Sedate him then have Brolly take him to his room and watch him to make sure he does nothing drastic.” The doctor nodded when the king left then set to do what he was ordered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kakarot gradually woke in a place he didn’t know. Tired eyes scanned the walls and ceiling. It appeared to be a medical lab with the regeneration tanks and the people in white coats with disturbing instruments littered the room. “Kakarot?” A familiar voice came from his other side as he went to turn his head and his eyes became more open.
“Raditz?” He nearly sobbed when his brother leaned over to hug him and kiss him on the forehead and stroked his hair.
“Oh, Kakarot! I didn’t think…I didn’t know if I’d ever find you! And when I heard that you were here, I immediately came and waited for you to wake! You’ve been healing for almost two weeks and you didn’t wake a week after that! I was thinking you were never going to wake up! The doctors said were you barely alive when you were brought here! There was so much blood…I thought for sure that…that…” He trailed off from his panicked talking. He shook his head at his jumbled thoughts and hugged his little brother tighter.
Kakarot didn’t know what to say for the moment, but went ahead and slowly returned the hug. His arms felt tired and sore, they almost didn’t want to comply. He could only imagine what the rest of his body felt like. He turned his head slightly to take in his brother’s scent. God he missed it so. He didn’t think he’d ever see him again. He hugged him tighter at that thought as tears started leaking from his eyes. “Raditz…” He couldn’t believe his brother was here. It feels like it’s been years since he’s last seen him.
Raditz pulled away after he gave his little brother another kiss on the temple and his cheek then stroked his hair and held his hand tightly. “How are you feeling? Are you in any pain? Are you hungry? Sore? Are you feeling anything at all?” He continued stroking his hair with worry.
It took a moment for Kakarot to soak in all the questions he was asked before he took into consideration at what he was actually feeling. “I feel…groggy and exhausted.”
“Well, that’s no surprise.” A doctor came up next to him with a clipboard in his hands. “You’ve lost a lot of blood. It’ll take a while before you regain your strength. Food and rest will bring it back.” He wrote down a couple things on the board before lowering it and studying the boy. “Now that you’re awake, we can escort you to a more comfortable room in the patient ward. That way you can rest and have visitors.” He looked at the boy until he received a nod then nodded in return. “Alright. I’ll have someone escort you.” He turned around and ordered someone to do just what he said then the other doctor nodded before doing what he was told.
When Kakarot got settled in, the doctor helped him get into a sitting position so he may converse with his brother. When he left, Raditz took a seat next to his portable bed then took a hold of his hand again. “Raditz.” The boy croaked.
“What is it, Kakarot?” Raditz asked earnestly.
“Where am I?” Kakarot looked around as if something would trigger his memory.
Raditz’s expression fell before he answered. “You’re…in a facility at the capital.”
Kakarot looked surprised for only a moment before his expression fell as well. “Oh.” He should’ve known. Where else would they take a tsukai?
Raditz suddenly looked apologetic. “I’m sorry. After all that’s happened, it was hard for me to keep you from them.”
Kakarot looked up at him. “No, it’s okay. It was inevitable.” He blinked. “Raditz, when did you get back?”
Raditz stared at their hands as he gently rubbed his thumb over bruised knuckles. “It’s been two months now since I’ve been back, but I was told you’ve been gone for six.”
Kakarot’s eyes widened in surprise. “That long?” He figured he was there for a few months, but six? Where did the time go? Suddenly, something occurred to him when a memory hit him. “Wait, did they ever find anyone else down there?”
Raditz nodded solemnly then looked in his brother’s eyes. “Of course they did. Like, fifteen other bodies were found in there. What, you didn’t see them?”
Kakarot shook his head. “No. Not them. Anyone alive. Did they find anyone alive down there?”
Raditz’s expression turned into sorrowful confusion. “No. There were no other survivors.”
Kakarot’s steady breathing turned into forced breaths as he tried grasping the information he was just told. He shook his head in denial. “No. It can’t be.” His breath hitched when a sob went through him. “He…he didn’t make it.” Tears immediately started streaming down his face at the thought. His moved his free hand to cover his face and sobbed. “Oh, Gohan.”
Raditz moved to sit on the edge of the bed so he could embrace and comfort his little brother. “Hey. What is it?” He cooed softly while caressing the little one’s back gently.
“G-Gohan. He w-was with me.” Kakarot sobbed into his brother’s chest.
Raditz stilled his motions then pulled away in shock. “Gohan as in…Son Gohan?” Kakarot wiped at his eyes and nodded. “But that guy’s been missing for two years! How-“ He stopped when it occurred to him that the man must’ve been imprisoned all that time. “Oh.” He scowled. “What sick bastard does that to his own kind?”
Kakarot sniffed. “The prince.” He answered coldly.
Raditz’s eyes widened. “A-Are you sure?”
Kakarot nodded. “He had the royal symbol on his breast plate, the flame-shaped hair, the permanent scowl on his face, the unpredictable attitude…everything.”
It was Raditz’s turn to hyperventilate. “Impossible.” He whispered in awe. “I don’t know if anyone will believe you though.”
Kakarot sighed. “It doesn’t matter. What’s important is that it’s all over.”
Raditz gave a short sigh before brushing back his little brother’s hair again. “Right.” He smiled softly. “Father’s going to be so relieved to see that you’re safe and well.”
Kakarot looked up at him. “Father’s back?” When Raditz nodded, a huge grin replaced Kakarot’s solemn features. “Really? I haven’t seen him in so long! I can’t wait until he comes to visit me!” Raditz smiled and wiped away a few stray tears from his brother’s face. Kakarot’s grin lessened to a knowing smile before it turned sad again. “When are you leaving again, brother?”
Raditz lowered his hand. “I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. Not after what happened…” He answered earnestly, assuring the younger that he wasn’t going anywhere.
However, Kakarot understood what he meant. “Raditz, I don’t want you to stay here because of me. After all, I’m not going to be at home anymore.” His lip quivered as he fought not to cry again.
Raditz took a hold of his brother’s chin and lifted it so they could touch foreheads. “I don’t care. I’m not about to go off on another mission when my little brother needs me. Hell, I’m not sure I’ll ever leave again after this. What if it happens again? I want to be here so I know that you’ll always be safe.”
A few tears trailed down wet cheeks again at the other’s tender words. “Oh, Radditz.” He whimpered softly then sniffed. “Don’t worry about me. I’m safe here.”
Raditz stared deeply into his brother’s eyes. “Don’t give me that. Why do you think we kept you at home? You’re no safer here than you are in the market. Anything could happen to you. Especially with the visitors you might be getting.” Kakarot cringed and pulled away when his brother mentioned other visitors, knowing exactly what he meant. Raditz sighed. “I’m sorry. I’m just worried about you. I always am whenever I go on a mission. Besides, I doubt you’ll be getting any visitors any time soon. They want you well.”
Kakarot nodded solemnly, then moved a hand to stroke his brother’s face. “You look different. Older…more mature.” He smiled softly.
Raditz returned the smile and held his brother’s hand on his cheek. “You think so? I look more experienced, don’t I? Smarter?”
Kakarot giggled. “If you say so.”
Raditz chuckled then poked the younger in the side gently. “Meany.”
Kakarot chuckled lightly and captured his brother’s hand from the annoying action, only to take notice that he had a scar on his own. It was circular and in the middle of it where all the bone and veins are. He rubbed it with his other hand in confusion then noticed that the same scar was on the other. He appeared to have scars all around his wrists as well. “What…?” Raditz looked at the scar and frowned then took a hold of his hand to rub the scar gently, as if he could make it disappear with the simple action. “What happened?” Kakarot asked in bewilderment.
Raditz slowly shook his head. “I don’t know. They wouldn’t tell me. I guess they were afraid I’d tell you and they didn’t want you to be reminded of what you went through. I mean, it was enough to heal your body. I don’t know what all it would take to heal your mind. What I’m really afraid of is…that you will remember. It’s inevitable after all. You were down there for six months. Some of it will most likely come back to you, if not all.”
Kakarot shook his head. “I remember…the first few weeks of it, I suppose. But I don’t remember how I got these.” He fingered the scars on his hands again. “It’s…almost as if-“ He stopped when the memory came back to him. Not the specific memory of how it happened, but he had a pretty good idea. “Oh, God…” He bit his lip, trying his hardest to keep in the tears and the pain.
Raditz moved in to embrace him again. “It’s alright, Kakarot. It’s all over now. You have nothing else to worry about. It’s going to be okay. I’ll make sure of it.” He rocked them back and forth when Kakarot started sobbing again. After a while, all was silent as they continued embracing each other. However, the silence was interrupted when Raditz spoke in a sad tone. “My biggest regret is…that I left you here all alone. I should’ve been here…I should’ve protected you.” Kakarot didn’t say anything as he hugged his big brother tighter. He knew it was true and therefore didn’t bother correcting him.
The silence continued for a good while, the brothers still holding onto one another. However, Raditz became a little disturbed and started fidgeting a bit. Kakarot reluctantly pulled back from the comforting embrace to give his brother a confusing look. “What’s wrong?”
Raditz eyed a certain part of his brother’s neck and kept glancing away before answering. “Does…you’re mate know where you are?”
Kakarot raised a brow at the question. “Mate? I don’t have a mate.”
Raditz scrutinized his brother for a moment then gestured towards the juncture on his neck and shoulder. “Then…what’s that?”
Kakarot lifted a hand in confusion before feeling around the area his brother was talking about. He was hoping to any powerful force that his brother was just pulling his leg. His hand slid along his neck and shoulder before coming along a smooth part on his neck. His breathing sped up when he traced the scar and shook his head in denial before jumping out of bed. In doing so, he immediately hit the floor. He growled in frustration when he suddenly remembered that he was weak still. Raditz jumped off the bed and around the other side to help his brother. “What the hell are you doing?!” He helped him stand then Kakarot pushed away from him so he may go to the mirror on the other side of the room by using the edge of the bed and wall for support. When he got there, he moved the collar of the robe he was wearing aside so he could actually see what was there. He gasped when he saw the bite mark and the dark scar it left. He shook his head again as his breathing sped up. He took a few slow steps back while gripping his hair and whispering ‘no, no, no, no’ over and over. Before Raditz could ask what was wrong, his brother collapsed on the floor, fainting from shock.
Raditz was kneeling next to him in an instant and immediately tried to wake him. “Kakarot?! Kakarot?!” He looked around in loss for a moment before shouting towards the open doorway. “Help! Doctor! Anyone!”
The End?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m sorry…it had to end at a cliffhanger. :( I couldn’t think of any other ending. >.> Hey, it could’ve been worse, okay? I could’ve ended it where Kakarot actually did die, but then Vegeta wouldn’t have kept his word. :) To be honest, I'm not that satisfied with the ending, but I didn't want to take the extra time to come up with another one since I've made you all wait long enough. Also, I’ve been thinking about doing a sequel to this buuuuut, it might be short…it might be extremely long…I don’t know yet. I’ve had some thoughts about it, but as far as the ending goes…no idea. So uh, let me know what you guys think. If you loved it more than anything and want me to do a sequel on it big time, then let me know. If you guys didn’t think it was ‘that’ good, then let me know. :) Reviews give me the inspiration. Normally, I wouldn’t ask for such because honestly…I don’t really care, but since I’m considering doing a sequel, which is something I haven’t done before, it’d be nice to get some feedback. Thanks to all who reviewed and read and I hope it was enjoyable. ^^
