Chapter 8- Kai\'s Past Awaken

After Kai hung up with Kenny, he felt like...he didn\'t know what to do. All he could do is curl up in a ball with his chin resting on his knees and his
arms wrapped around his legs, crying like there was no tomorrow. He didn\'t hear Mr. Kinomiya walk into the room.
\"Kai?\" asked the older man.
\"Yes?\" Kai asked being able through his crying.
\"Are you alright?\" asked a concerned Mr. Kinomiya now right behind the crying Kai.
\"Yes..(sniff)..no..(sniff)..I don\'t know.\" That was all Kai was able to say before bursting out shedding crystal tears.
Mr. Kinomiya saw this and wrapped his strong arms around the crying boy whispering things like: \'It\'s going to be alright\' or \'I\'m here for you.\'
\"Nobody loves me!\" exclaimed Kai while holding tighter on his \'dad\'.
\"No Kai, you\'re wrong. I love you.\" Mr. Kinomiya said cupping Kai\'s face with his hands.
\"You do?\"
\"Yes.\"
\"May I call my grandfather now, please, Dad?\"
\"Of course you can. Follow me so you can use my office phone for some privacy.\" Mr. Kinomiya said lifting Kai and himself up off the floor.
He had carried Kai all the way upstairs to the attic on his back. Kai had enjoyed the ride. He wish could have done this with his real parents such
as his father. Part of him felt like he wish that Mr. Kinomiya was his real dad. He would have loved the piggy-back rides and other fun qualtities with him.
\"Okay, here we are.\" Mr. Kinomiya said while he released Kai off his back. His office was big, there was bookshelves and cases of books. The was tons
of pictures of ancient history or of the family. He even had a picture of Kai blading going against Specer, and the group picture of the the whole Bladebreaker team.
Mr. Kinomiya offered Kai his leather wheely chair of his desk, who accepted it. On his desk was pictures, books, and other stuff.
He took out his phone book and placed his phone on the desk.
\"Okay, Kai. Ready to call your grandfather?\" said the older man. Kai nodded. Kai watched as his \'dad\' picked up the phone.
He dialed the number, 1-410-392-7076, and it began to rang until a soft voice of a woman anwsered.
/Hello, this is Janice speaking of the BioVolt company. How may I help you?\\ answered Janice on the other line.
\"Hi, this Bruce Kinomiya. May I speak to Voltarie Hiwatari, please. His grandson would like to speak with him.\" Mr. Kinomiya repiled.
/Very well. Hold on, please.\\ Janice said putting the two men on hold.
Mr. Kinomiya kneeled down to Kai\'s size, since Kai was sitting down, took Kai\'s hand, and looked into his eyes.
\"Okay, here, Kai. I\'m going to leave you to talk to your grandfather alone. Do you want me to say?\" Mr. Kinomiya asked offering the phone to Kai, who took it.
Kai shook his head. \"No, I have to do this on my own, but thanks anyway. I\'ll call for you if I need anything.\"
\"Okay. Just call.\" Mr. Kinomiya rose up from his kneeling position and gave Kai a sweet kiss on his forehead. He walked over to the door to leave, but before
he left he waved goodbye to Kai, who waved back, and soon had disappeared behind the now close door. Kai took a deep breath. He was about to talk to
the man who thought actually loved him, but did. He had not spoken to his grandfather since he ran away from the abbey. He picked up the phone and
waited for a voice to answer.
/Hello?\\ said a deep, and husky voice on the other line.
\"Hello, grandfather.\" Kai repiled back to the voice.
/Kai! I thought something happened to you, that Boris must have taken you under his control\\ said a worried Voltarie.
\"I\'m alright, grandfather.\"
There was a slight pause of silence.
/That\'s not why you called, is it, Kai?\\
\"No... Not really.\"
/Look, Kai. What happened in Russia...I didn\'t mean to use you. It was because...\\
\"You didn\'t want to lose BioVolt?\" Kai said interrupting his grandfather.
/No, Kai. And don\'t you take that tone of voice with me. It was because he force me to give you up to his abbey or he would have killed you and your parents.\\
\"What\'s the point? My parents are already dead.\"
/Kai, your parents died in a terrrible car accident.\\
\"Answer me this one question. Did you want to give me up?\" Kai asked trying to hold back his tears.
/No, Kai. I just wanted you, my only grandson, to be safe. I know I never said this but...I love you, Kai.\\ Voltarie said admitting his sentence.
\"I love you too, grandpapa.\" Kai said letting out his tears.
/\'Grandpapa\'? You haven\'t call me that in ages.\\
Kai laughed at his statement.
/Kai, I want you to be out on the look out for Boris.\\
\"Why?\"
/He is a very dangerous man, and is after you.You are the key to everything from destruction. He may be following you.Whatever he says, don\'t listen to him, okay?\\
\"Okay.\"
/You must tell Mr. Dickerson and all your friends..\\
\"Even \'dad\'?\"
/\'Dad?\'\\
\"Mr. Kinomiya. I call him \'dad\', if that\'s okay with you.\"
/It\'s okay with me, but you must not forget who your true mother and father are.\\
\"I will.\"
/As I was saying, tell Mr. Dickerson, your \'dad\', and your friends to be on a look out. He could possible try to use one of them as bait.\\
\"Okay.\"
/God, I miss talking to you, Kai.\\
\"I miss it, too, Grandpapa. And I especially miss you.\" Kai said holding back his sobbing.
/I miss you, too, Kai.\\ Voltarie aswered back.
\"May I call you anytime?\"
/Yes, you may. Just get Mr. Dickerson or \'dad\' to call me for you, since you need adult to call this number.\\
\"When will I see you again?\"
/I should be coming up this Saturday.\\
\"Can\'t wait to see you till then. Well, I got to go. Tyson should be home soon.\"
/Oh, yeah. How is that friend of yours doing? Tyson I believe his name is. Haven\'t heard anything about him since the World Championship.\\
\"Oh, nothing really. Only that I\'m going to go to school with him next week and meandhimgoout, and...\"
/Hold on just a minute. Did I hear you say that you two are together?\\
\"Y-Yes. Please, Grandpapa, don\'t let me break-up with him! I love him and he loves me.\"
/(Sigh) Alright, you can stay with him. Besides, I can\'t take you away from the one you love. Just make sure he treats you right.\\
\"I know. Everybody has been warning me and watching over me.\"
/I had known you two were going to be with each other.\\
\"You did?!\" asked a shocked Kai.
/Yup. I seen the way you two look at each other. The way he would do anything for you and protecting you from me. I see he really has a heart for you.\\
\"Yeah, I guess he does.\" This made Kai smile, knowing that Tyson really did love him no matter what if Hilary came in the way of things between them.
/All your friends treating you well?\\ Voltarie asked his grandson.
\"Oh, yes, the best. So have Gramps and \'dad\'. They really care and love me.\"
/They sure do by the way it sounds. Your \'dad\' must be spoiling you up there?\\
\"Yes. He\'s the best.\"
/He must be if he already met you before.\\
\"He did?\"
/Oh, yes. You were just a baby. About two months old. Your parents and him were such good friends since college. I surprised you don\'t remember this since he
would always come and visit just to see you. Ask him later on today to tell all about it. He should know more of your past than me.\\
\"Okay. I will. Well, I got to go now, Grandpapa. It\'s 2:30, Tyson should be coming home in a few minutes.\"
/Well, okay. Remember if you feel like talking, you can call anytime.\\
\"Okay. Love you, Grandpapa. Can\'t wait to see you!\" Kai said with excitement in his voice.
/Love you, too, Kai. Can\'t wait either.\\ Voltarie said in a cheerful voice.
\"Bye!\"

After the two hang up, Kai left his dad\'s office, and went to outside to see Mr. Kinomiya practing kendo with Gramps. He sat down on the side watching the two
go at it. They fought so swiftly. They both wore determened looks on their faces. Kai just watched with fasacation. He never saw anything like this.
They had reminded him of beyblade. How the way they moved, just as two blades going at each other, or even how they way when one attack and the other in
defence, just like two bit-beasts battling in attack and defence mode. He thought it was way to cool. In the end, Gramps end up winning, since of his smart
statics and moves. He walked away with a victorious smile. When he reach up to Kai, he smiled at Kai giving him a pat on the shoulder, and walked away.
\"So, Kai. What did your grandfather say?\" asked a courious Mr. Kinomiya practing with his kendo stick.
\"Well, he wanted me to thank-you for letting me stay here, that he misses me, and that he loves me.\" Kai said smiling at the last bit of words.
The older man chuckled.
\"And he also said that I can call and talk to him anytime, but I need either you or Mr. Dickerson to call since you need to be an adult to call the number.\"
\"Isn\'t strange that the Russian ambassor\'s grandson can\'t call without an adult?\" Mr. Kinomiya said joking.
\"Yea-..Dad!\" Kai said being embarassed. They both laughed.
\"Tyson soon should be home. It\'s already 2:45. He gets home from school at 3 or 3:15. How about I teach you the basic of kendo.\" Mr. Kinomiya said to Kai.
\"Um..sure, okay.\" Kai accepted. Mr. Kinomiya handed Kai a wooden, bambo stick. He showed him how to position the stick and himself in the right way.
He shoed a few moves such as to attack, defence, and how to confuse your enemy. He showed him ways how to get out of tough spots as in if losing your
weapon and gaining it back. Mr. Kinomiya never had a student such as Kai. Actually, Kai was his first student in teaching kendo. Kai made him felt pround of
himself, just seeing Kai with such determation to try over moves that he could not succeed in until he got the hang of it. How Kai was willing to learn the toughest
thing that was thrown at him. he couldn\'t be more proud of watching over his \'son.\' It was until then that he could see Kai had just defeated him in his first match.
He saw the proud smile on Kai\'s face.
\"Very good, Kai. I\'ve never seen someone master the first two basics lesson in kendo.You\'re now on the level the Tyson is trying to master. But I think that you
will be able to master it before Tyson,\" Mr. Kinomiya said to Kai.
\"You really think so, dad?\" Kai asked in a amazement.
\"Yes. Just don\'t tell Tyson or he\'ll be real mad at me for saying that.\"
\"Okay.\" Kai said chuckling. The two men went inside to relax since they were tired. They decide to watch a little bit of T.V. after they put the kendo sticks away.
\"I forgot to tell you. my grandfather said he would visit me this Saturday, if that\'s alright to you.\" Kai said making sure of the situtation.
\"Yeah, it\'s okay with me. You need to make up those times that miss with your grandfather.\" Mr. Kinomiya said.
\"Thanks.\" Kai said giving his \'dad\' a hug. They decide to watch Kai\'s favorite cartoon show, Spongebob Squarepants, while relaxing on the couch.
He loved Spongebob and Patrick, they were his favorite. He had watched every epsiode there was. During the middle of the show, Kai started to doze off.
Mr. Kinomiya saw this and put his arm around the dozy boy. Kai looked up at him.
\"It\'s okay. You must be real tired from all that excitement today. I\'ll wake you up when Tyson comes home, okay?\" Mr. Kinomiya said to Kai.
\"Okay,\" Kai anwsered sleepily. But as soon as Kai said that, he was already sleeping softly. Mr. Kinomiya felt so happy to see Kai fall asleep. He took the
blanket that was hanging off the couch and wrapped it around Kai and himself. He looked down at the sleeping boy, who was resting his head on his shoulders,
and kissed sweetly on the forehead. He didn\'t seem to notice that his his own father, Gramps, was watching the whole thing outside the living room door.
He was smiling, he was so happy to see his son have a happy family. He couldn\'t feel any better.
