Surprises

Disclaimers: Don\'t own G-boys, wish I did. I\'m broke and not worth suing. The OCs you see however are just that \'original characters\' meaning mine.

Warnings: Nothing really this chappie, it\'s the prologue 1/2.

Extra Note: This is my first attempt at fanfic, hope you enjoy. More at the end, please read it. Also, yes six (6) doctors. You\'ll understand later.

Thanks and enjoy the show!

AC 196
December 24

*sigh. click. whirr. buzz*

The machine started up silently, so quiet no one would notice the existence of the room and its machine. Of course, no one would know anyways. The war had been over for a year and no one had been inside the lab since. A bank of computer screens flick on, filling the hidden room with an unnerving dim green glow. It glimmered on hidden consoles that no one knew about except five doctors and one team of long since dead architects and builders. It highlighted tubing and showed off wires. The most unnerving aspect was how the glow seemed to caress five barely seen glass tubes, almost maternal in its caresses.

*whirr. whirr. sigh. whirr. click click click click click. hum*

A series of soft clicks fill the room momentarily followed by a soft hum as the screens are suddenly filled with information. A short staccato of beeps fire off and is answered by a minutes worth of computer Morse code as a bank of mainframes and super computers fire off on the opposite side of the room and in the three adjacent rooms. No one was around to realize that a single system didn\'t start because no one was around to translate the code. The bank of five computers send out a quick diagnostic which analyzes the failed system then quarantines it after determining the system isn\'t integral to the success of the whole.

*whirr. hum. soft clicks*

The bank of five screens start streaming information. The number of people who would have killed for that information is unclear, but because no one was around nothing happened. Well, nothing happened for 13 hours that is.

*hiss hiss hisssigh*

An almost resigned sign is emitted from the four rooms of computers. Almost because, of course, computers can\'t emote. A computerized feminine voice fills the room.

::Network scan completed - results negative - conclusion: volatile. Execute emergency fail safe. Code 5 - locating DNA samples::

*click. hiss. whirr. buzz. click click click click click. beep*

::DNA samples located. Executing Codes 2 - 3 - 4 - 12 - 15 - 32 - 33 - 49. Codes 2 - 3 - 4 - 12 - 15 - 32 - 33 - 49 accepted and executed. Code 15 damaged - executing emergency code 13. Emergency code 13 accepted and executed. Preparing chambers; execute codes 21 - 22 - 23 - 24 - 25. Codes accepted and now executing::

*hiss hiss hiss hiss hiss. sigh sigh sigh sigh sigh. Quiet sloshing as liquid fills the five once empty glass tubes. Five short, sharp retorts sound when preparations are completed*

::Preparations now completed. Executing final codes 10 - 20 - 30 - 40 - 50. Final codes accepted. Starting code 1 - incubation. Code 1 successfully executed - starting incubation of emergency fail safe::

The five liquid filled glass tubes become illuminated from within. Located in the middle of each tube was a small bundle that was connected to the top and bottom of the tube by wires and small hoses. The emergency fail safes.

::8759 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds until incubation completion. Switching to monitor mode::

No one was around. No one had been around since the end of the war. Therefore, no one was around to witness this momentous occasion. And, no one was around to hear the clinical, computerized, feminine voice soften and whisper Good night small ones\'.

Say hello to my first ever fanfic aka THE GREAT EXPERIMENT!!!

Heh, don\'t let the little personal endearment fool you, I don\'t plan making sloppy work/butchering/annihilating with a flamethrower(you get the idea ^^ ) this fic.
However, it will be on the receiving end of my attempts at action sequences, angst, romance, and citrusI think I should point out the previous statements key phrase I don\'t plan on meaning it may happen but not intentionally.

R&R appreciated (encourage the fledgling author ppl! Lemme know if I\'m doing good or need work) (*cough*hint*couch*)

I\'ll let Arba`ona deal with flames (*pities the fool who dares to torque off Arba*)
