College

First Day

Chapter 1

It was finally the day Rai had finally graduated from high school and now was going of to college. He was so thrilled about college and couldn’t wait, Rai had decided to go to a college called ‘RIVER SIDE’. he had read so many brochures of all different colleges but he liked ‘RIVER SIDE’ the best. It was a shame that non of his friends were going their but Rai knew that he would make new friends.

Besides he had heard many great things about ‘RIVER SIDE’ and decided that, that was the college he wanted to go to. He had decided that he wanted to study acting because his father was an actor. During his years through primary school and high school he was always in all the drama plays. His teachers thought he was a wonderful performer and knew that he would do well as a professional actor. His parents were so proud of him when they got the form from the college saying that their son was now a new student in their college.

The day had come when Rai was standing outside the college gates with his bags. The college was huge just by looking at the front. In the middle of the front yard of the college was a beautiful fountain. It was a statue of as girl and her right arm was in the air and a statue of a bird was on it. The water was coming out from around the bird which was on the statue girls hand. Rai had never seen such an amazing statue before, “its beautiful isn’t it” someone said from behind him.

Rai was stuttled he looked behind him and a boy with blonde hair was standing behind him. “Sorry I hope I didn’t scare you” the boy said to Rai with a smile on his face. “Not at all” of course Rai was lying. The blonde hair boy walked up beside Rai and looked at the fountain. “You know the story behind this statue comes from the river on the other side of the road which you just entered from” he told Rai. “They say that hundreds of years ago a beautiful young girl ended up falling in love with a merman who lived in the river. Every day she would wait at one particular spot waiting for the merman. But one day the people from the village which the young girl lived at found out about the merman. It angered them that such a creature was living near their village. They thought of him as a cursed monster because their crops where dying. So they went down to the river to kill the merman, but the young girl would not allow them to harm her true love. The merman swam away before the villagers could harm him after that the merman never came back. Even though the young girl knew that she still waited at that one stop waiting for him to return and she would wait until the end of her days”.

“That’s such a sad story” Rai said looking up at the statue “it is a shame” the blonde hair boy said. “Oh I’m sorry I haven’t even introduced myself I’m Max by the way” he said with his hand out. Rai shook his hand “I’m Rai” he told the him “its nice to meet you Rai so are you new here” Max asked him. “Yeah I am actually” he replied “so what dorm are you staying at I can show you if you like” Max asked him. “I’m in dorm 12” he told Max. “Really hay cool I’m in that dorm as well what a coincidence huh” Max said.

He picked up one of Rai’s bags and showed him where the dorms where. They came up to a small building which looked like it had about four floors. “Well here we are” the blonde said with a happy voice. They both walked inside “so which room are you assigned to” Max asked him. Rai took out a small piece of paper from inside his front pocket “um room 56” he told Max. “Right well that’s on the third floor so we will have to take the elevator” Max replied. They then both headed over to the elevator and waited for the doors to open. Just when the door opened Rai was just about to pick his bag up when someone banged into his head. “OW” he said rubbing his head “watch were your standing next time” someone said to him. Rai looked up and standing a bit behind him was a tall boy with grey hair at the front and dark hair at the back.

He gave Rai a cold stare in the eye Rai had never seen such angry eyes before and not ones which looked like you could see hell behind them. “Ha sorry Kai he’s new so don’t be to hard on him” Max said with a hand behind his head and giving Kai a slight laugh. “Hmph” was all that came out of his mouth and then he turned around and left. “Well lets go” Max told Rai, they picked the bags up again and walked into the elevator. “Man who was that guy” Rai asked still rubbing his head with a headache coming on. “Oh that was Kai Hiwatari, he’s kind of the big shot around this college” Max said.

“He’s more like the college’s big jerk if you ask me, what’s so great about him anyway” Rai said. “Well he is kind of the top number one student here and is the most talented student in his area” Max told him. Rai didn’t understand what Max meant by his area but he didn’t really care about that. The elevator doors opened and they where on the third floor “ok room 56 room 56 hmm are here we are room 56” Max said. They where standing in front of a blue door with the number 56 in gold coating in the middle.

“So this is going to be my room for the time I am going to be here huh” Rai said. “Yeap but hey the rooms are not that bad in this dorm” Max told him. “Well I have to go but if you need anything I’m on the second floor room number 32 okay” Max told him. “Sure” Rai replied and watched Max walk back to the elevator. “Well I guess I should unlock the door” he said to himself. He took the key out of his pocket which he received in the mail before he came. He unlocked the door and opened it. He walked in with his bags and shut the door behind him the room was a lot bigger than he expected.

Their was a small lounge with a couch and a TV and a small kitchen with a fridge and a stove a microwave and everything else that people would have in a kitchen. Both the lounge and the kitchen was nicely furnished and clean. He then saw a door and figured that it must lead to the bedroom. So he walked over to carrying his bags along with him. He opened the door and walked inside the curtains where opened letting the sun light shine through. Their where two beds one was a single and the other one was a double. The bedroom was a lot bigger than the lounge room that was for sure. Their where two desks and two built in wardrobes one on each side of the room. Rai noticed another door he put his bags on the floor and walked over to it and opened it. “Cool I have my own bathroom wicked” he said to himself.

He walked back out into the bedroom and looked at both the beds it seemed that someone already had the double bed. So he was stuck with the single bed “oh well better than nothing I guess” he said to himself again. He put his bag on the single bed which he was going to be sleeping on from now on. He unzipped his biggest bag and started unpacking his clothes and putting them in the wardrobe. He slid it open and couldn’t believe how much space their was he deffiently had enough room to put everything. About an hour later Rai had finally finished unpacking all of his stuff and decided to get himself a drink.

He walked out of the bedroom and headed to the kitchen and opened the fridge. Their was a few cans of soda so he grabbed one and headed back to the bedroom. He sat down on the side of his bed and put his back up against the wall and had his legs dangling of the bed. He opened the can and took a sip from it feeling that nice cold feeling going down his throat. Rai then looked over at the other bed and started wondering who was the other person which he will be sharing with. He soon realised that he didn’t even think that when he first arrived. Rai just hoped that who ever it was wasn’t a jerk.

He finished his drink and put it on the bedside table “man I’m tied” he said yawning. Soon sleep took over him and he flopped down fell asleep.

Rai had been asleep for about an hour when he heard something coming from the kitchen. “Oh shit I forgot to lock the door” Rai said to himself quietly. He stood up and headed over to the closed bedroom door. He put his ear to it to see if he could hear anything, he heard a bang and it deffiently came from inside. Rai saw a ruler on his roommates desk he picked it up and held a firm grip around it. “There going to pay for ever coming in this room” he said to himself, he grabbed the door knob and slowly turned it.

He then heard the click noise knowing that he was able to open the door, he took a big breath and charged out of the room. “ALRIGHT THIEF YOU PICKED THE WRONG ROOM TO BREAK INTO” Rai yelled with the ruler in the air. The stranger turned around quickly and saw Rai coming towards him with a ruler. Just when Rai was about to hit the person, he dodged Rai’s blow. “OH NO YOU DON’T” Rai yelled again he was just about to hit him again when the stranger grabbed the ruler from Rai and kicked him in the stomach.

Rai fell to the floor with his hand on his stomach and coughing “who are you calling a thief this is my room you moron” the stranger told him. Rai soon recovered from the hit to his stomach when he sort of knew that voice. He looked up and standing their before him with a really angry glare was Kai. Rai couldn’t believe it “wait a second” Rai soon came to his senses and stood up. He looked Kai straight in the face “what do you mean your room” Rai asked him with his voice raised up abit. “Meaning I sleep, eat and wash here that’s what” Kai told him, “so your telling me that you’re my roommate” Rai asked him. “Afraid so” Kai said “so what where you trying to do you stupid idiot kill someone with a ruler” Kai asked.

“Hey I though you where a thief come on give me a break” Rai told him why he watched Kai head to the bedroom. “Man you are an idiot” Kai said and then shut the door “why that bastard calling me an idiot huh” Rai said clenching his fists. He then ran to the bedroom door and quickly opened it. “Hey” but before he could continue saying what he wanted to say Kai was half naked. “Uh uh uh uh S S SORRY” he then slammed the door shut “holy crap I just saw him ahhh don’t say it” Rai said to himself.

The door soon opened and Rai was leaning on it that he fell back and landed on his back. He looked up and saw Kai looking down at him. Kai was now wearing a plain shirt and some blue shorts. “You know I didn’t see anything so please don’t kill me” Rai said covering half his face with his hands afraid that Kai might punch him in the face. Kai just walked over him not saying anything. Rai was a bit surprised he sat up and watched as Kai was grabbing a can of soda and then sat down on the lounge.

‘What’s with this guy he’s acting as if nothing happened I mean if some guy walked in why I was half naked I would clobber them in the face what’s the deal with him’ Rai though to himself. Kai still just sat their sipping at his soda not saying a single word. It was now starting to get on Rai’s nerves. Rai was about to say something when he heard a knock on the door. “Get that” Kai said “huh” Rai surprised that Kai actually finally said something. “I said get the door you stupid idiot”. Rai was about to get up when he heard Kai calling him a stupid idiot “hey I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me a stupid idiot you damn prick” Rai said out straight.

“Just get the door” Kai said looking away “grrrrr no you get it” Rai told him and then walked back into the bedroom and slammed the door. ‘Who does he think he is that jerk why the hell do I have to share with him’ Rai though to himself. He walked over to his bed and just flopped on it and faced the wall. “Talk about bad luck” he said to himself, he soon heard some talking coming from the lounge but he just chose to ignore it. The last this he wanted to do was face the guy again.
